CZ DUTY 4.0 C

About this product
Numbers first, since that is how this catalog's readers shop. CZ's new DUTY 4.0 runs a refined SFDA trigger specified at 25±4 N, which works out to 5.6±0.9 lbs, with 9±1 mm of travel and a 4 mm reset. The barrel is 102 mm (4 in) and unthreaded. Overall length is 188 mm, width 33 mm. The slide is cut for direct-mount optics with no plate stack in between, and fixed sights are fitted from the factory.
What makes it a new generation rather than a facelift is the frame layout. The serialized part is an internal chassis; the fiberglass-reinforced polymer grip around it is modular. The C compact (15+1, 17+1 with extended base plate, 770 g, 135 mm) and the F full-size (17+1, 19+1 extended, 780 g, 143 mm) share that chassis concept. MS models stack a manual thumb safety on top of the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety. CZ's MSRP is $729.
Pick the C when the gun has to disappear under a cover garment. It gives up two rounds to the full-size model (15+1 against 17+1) and about 8 mm of grip height, and in return it is 5.3 in (135 mm) tall and 27.2 oz (770 g) light.
No external safety here. The firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger-bar safety handle drop safety, and the holster handles the rest. CZ sells the same gun with a frame-mounted lever as the MS model.
CZ built the DUTY around a serialized chassis that the polymer grip frame wraps around, the same idea that lets a buyer change frame size without buying a new serialized gun. The trigger is a refined SFDA striker unit, 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) pull, 0.16 in (4 mm) reset, 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) travel. The slide takes optics by direct mounting; CZ's product photos show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield units in place. Sights are fixed, the 4-inch barrel is not threaded.
Best fit: concealed carry where your state allows it, home defense, and range time that does not need a full-size grip. Shooters coming from a CZ 75 will recognize the grip angle; buyers coming from any other striker gun will notice the trigger first.
As with every serialized item in this catalog, the DUTY 4.0 is shipped to an FFL dealer of your choosing rather than to a residence. That dealer carries out the transfer and applies the regulations of the state where you take possession. Select a dealer you trust at checkout; if you are unsure whether they accept inbound handguns, confirm with them before placing the order.

Frequently asked questions
- Is the DUTY 4.0 barrel threaded for a compensator or suppressor?
- No. The 102 mm barrel ships without threads.
- How many rounds does each DUTY 4.0 version hold?
- The C compact holds 15+1, or 17+1 with the extended base plate. The F full-size holds 17+1, or 19+1 extended.
- Does the CZ DUTY 4.0 C take CZ P-10 magazines?
- CZ lists the DUTY with its own 15-round magazine and an extended base plate for 17+1. P-10 magazine fit is not confirmed, so plan on DUTY magazines.
- Is the compact easy to shoot?
- It shares the 4-inch barrel and slide with the full-size gun, so the sight radius is the same. Only the grip is shorter.
